Malé International Airport

AIRPORT
TREE PLANTING - 05th June 2007

Trees are essential for protecting our environment. The trees improve the quality of air that we breathe.  They provide human beings and wildlife food and shelter. And their contribution to climate control is immense.

Similarly, forests help to control erosion of soil and prevention of floods. It also plays a significant role in protecting and conserving water supplies. These contributions by the trees to our environment, makes them vital to our own existence.

When we plant trees, we compensate for the damage and destruction we have caused our planet by destroying the forests during the past centuries.

As MACL realizes the significance of planting trees to conserve the environment and also to raise awareness, it carries out numerous tree-planting activities at Male’ International Airport.
