AIRPORT AIR POLLUTION
Malé International Airport as one of the
busiest airports in the region, serving
its passengers and airport users,
endeavours to help reduce greenhouse gas
and from forming pollutant emissions
from the site. We are doing our best to
cope with the environment issues while
serving the needs of flying passengers
from one destination to the other. We do
our best to keep the vehicles used at
the airport, such as ground access
vehicles (GAVs) – vehicles such as
passenger buses and , ground support
equipment (GSE) used in the airport,
such as for aircraft towing, to be kept
best serviced and without polluting the
airport areas. At the same time we
humbly request and advice the airport
users such as airlines, tour operators,
etc. to do the same for the sake of our
vulnerable environmental concerns. We
believe that as an airport we have to
keep certain areas treeless and clear of
wildlife. We do our best to keep those
untouched as much as possible and
without harming the environment. But if
there is a concern for the damage to the
aircraft or losing human lives we cannot
help but to chase the animals which
might cause a hazard to the safety of
aircraft and passengers.
Male’ International Airport will carry
out a tree planting programme on the
World Environment Day.
