World Environment
Day
- 5th June
2007
In the
Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate.
All praise be to God, the Sustainer of all the worlds.
As the environment of the
Maldives is a precious inheritance of the generations to
come, it must be sincerely taken care of. And to protect the
land, water, plants and trees, shores, lagoons, reefs and
such other places, seas, air, and all those encompassed
within these, except those living things that endanger the
humans, which comprise the environment of the country.
Similarly, it shall be the responsibility of the present
generation to create awareness among the generations to
come, on improving and maintaining the profitability of
these things and places in order to preserve and develop the
country. On this auspicious day the Maldives Airports
Company will host a website dedicated to the environment and
Male International Airport will carry
out a tree planting program on the
World Environment Day.
The planet that we all share
is given to us in trust. Every choice
we make regarding the earth, air, and water around us should
be made with the objective of preserving it for all
generations to come. --August A. Bush III
